Gabrielle is from Torrance, California. She is a Double Domer, having received a degree in Psychology from Notre Dame in 2016. Gabrielle is involved with the Food and Beverage Law Club and the Asian Law Students Association.  She also serves as an Assistant Rector for Pasquerilla East Hall.  She spent her 1L summer with the Napa Legal Institute and more recently worked as a Labor and Employment summer associate in Vedder Price’s Los Angeles office. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and playing volleyball.

Yitian Cheng (Jeff) is a second-year law student at Notre Dame Law School.
He grew up in China and attended Sun Yet-sen University, where he earned his law degree and passed the Chinese Bar. Prior to his 1L, Yitian received his LL.M. cum laude also from Notre Dame Law School. Upon graduation, he worked as a research assistant for Professor Christine Venter, researching international law and gender issues. During his 1L summer, Yitian served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Jon E. DeGuilio, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. In his free time, Yitian enjoys hiking.

Katherine is from Glenview, Illinois. She graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 2018 with a concentration in International History. Prior to law school, she worked in Washington, D.C. for a Congressional Representative and as a legal assistant at a law firm. At NDLS, Katherine is the Treasurer of the Future Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council, and volunteers with the Exoneration Project and Green Bridge Growers. During her 1L summer, she received a Klau Center Summer Fellowship to work at Access Living, a disability rights organization in Chicago. She is passionate about disability rights, college football, and WWI history.

Rachel is originally from Los Angeles, California. She studied Political Science at Yale University. Prior to law school, Rachel worked in New York City at a healthcare startup before working in strategic partnerships at a marketing technology company. During her 1L summer, she was an extern for the Honorable Loretta A. Preska in the Southern District of New York. She hopes to return to New York City to practice upon her graduation. In her free time, Rachel enjoys skiing, practicing tennis, and binge-watching Gilmore Girls for the umpteenth time.

Mary Ellen is from Indianapolis. She graduated from Elon University in 2019 with a degree in Political Science and Spanish. At NDLS, Mary Ellen serves as the President Emerita of the Women’s Legal Forum. Mary Ellen will be moving to Chicago and working for Mayer Brown after graduation. In her free time, Mary Ellen enjoys riding her bike, spending time with family, and reading memoirs.

Caitlin was raised in Naperville, Illinois. In 2019, she graduated from Miami University (OH) with a degree in Diplomacy and Global Politics. Her French minor was put to use studying at Miami’s Luxembourg campus for a semester. For her first-year law school summer, she was a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio. Most recently, she worked as a summer associate at Jones Day in Cleveland, where she will be returning after graduation. In her free time, Caitlin enjoys cooking for friends, walking in nature, and playing with any cute dogs she happens upon.
