Hope Swantko

Hope Swantko is originally from Commerce, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Michigan where she studied philosophy and political science. Prior to and during law school she has worked in several real estate roles, including at Freeborn & Peters and Hilco Redevelopment Partners. After graduation she will be joining Byan Cave Leighton Paisner’s Chicago office as an Associate in the Real Estate group.

Joseph Schretzmann

Joseph is from Kennesaw, GA. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in finance in 2019. At NDLS, he is active in the Business Law Forum and the Sports, Communications, and Entertainment Law Forum. During his 1L summer, he interned for the Court of Appeals of Georgia and served as a Research Assistant for Professor Veronica Root Martinez during his 2L summer. Joseph enjoys watching sports, running, and traveling.

Chris Russell

Chris is originally from Rochester Hills, Michigan. He attended Oakland University and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Marketing and Finance. Chris currently serves as an Admissions Ambassador for NDLS, Assistant Rector in Duncan Hall, and a Dublin Honors Scholar. Chris will return to Michigan after graduation. In his free time, Chris enjoys camping and taking international cooking lessons.

Christopher Pillay

Christopher is originally from Elk Grove Village, IL. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to law school, he worked as an engineer for Texas Instruments. During his 1L summer, he worked as a summer associate for White & Case in Palo Alto. For his 2L summer, he was a summer associate at Winston & Strawn in Chicago and will be returning as a litigation associate after graduating. In his free time, Christopher likes to play sports and explore new food spots.

Silas Petersen

Silas Petersen is from Mankato, Minnesota. He received his bachelor’s degree from Bethany Lutheran College in American Studies with minors in Spanish and Legal Studies. After his 1L year, Silas interned with the Honorable Patrick J. Schiltz on the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. Silas spent his 2L summer at Larkin Hoffman Daly & Lindgren in Minneapolis, where he will return as a business litigation associate following graduation. In his freetime, Silas enjoys hiking, skiing, and playing tennis with his wife.
