
John Shaughnessy is a third-year J.D. candidate from Cimarron, Kansas. He graduated from Benedictine College in 2015 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to law school, John worked as an engineer and technology product manager at several large companies in the Kansas City area. During this time, he obtained a Master’s in Engineering Management from the University of Kansas. At Notre Dame, he is a member of the St. Thomas More Society, a community editor for the Journal of Law, Ethics, and Public Policy, and a J.L. Weigand, Jr. Notre Dame Legal Education Scholar. John spent his 1L summer at Kuckelman Torline Kirkland and his 2L summer at Husch Blackwell in their Kansas City office. After graduation, John will return to Husch Blackwell as an associate in their Intellectual Property Litigation Group.
