Michael Caplan

Michael Caplan is a second-year student at NDLS. Born and raised in Southern California, Michael is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara where he received his B.A. in History and Political Science.

In Fall 2021, he completed an academic residency studying theology and political philosophy as a Fellow with The John Jay Institute. He then served as Program Coordinator at The Public Interest Fellowship (TPIF), assisting in planning TPIF programs, operations, and alumni engagement. Michael’s legal interests include constitutional, administrative, antitrust, and public law litigation.

At NDLS he is a staff editor for the Journal of Law, Ethics, and Public Policy and on the boards of the Federalist Society, Jus Vitae, and the Hispanic Law Students Association. He interned for Alliance Defending Freedom during his 1L summer. Michael will spend his 2L summer at Porter Wright in Washington, D.C.
