Leo O’Malley

Leo was born and raised in Glen Ellyn, IL with two younger sisters. He attended Wheaton College, IL and graduated summa cum laude with degrees in Applied Mathematics and Organ Performance. During undergrad, he served as a Congressional legislative intern and was also selected to participate in the inaugural 2020 class of Heritage Foundation Academy Fellows. In addition to his role on JLEPP, Leo is a Showcase Team oralist on the Notre Dame Moot Court Board and the Director of the 2022 Notre Dame National Appellate Advocacy Tournament for Religious Freedom. He spent his 1L summer as a legal intern for the Thomas More Society in Chicago and his 2L summer as a Bradley Foundation Legal Fellow at Napa Legal Institute in Washington, DC. Over the past two years, Leo has also worked as a legal intern for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, participated in a Civil Rights Fellowship hosted by the Center for Equal Opportunity, and contributed as a student writer to the Federalist Society Blog. In his free time, Leo enjoys reading historical and fantasy novels, cooking, and spending time with his family in South Dakota. After graduation, he will clerk for Justice Janine M. Kern of the South Dakota Supreme Court.

Frances Neunuebel

Frances is originally from Leawood, Kansas. She did her undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame studying Neuroscience & Behavior. She then obtained a Master of Public degree in Global Epidemiology at Emory University. Frances currently serves as the 3L Representative for the Intellectual Property Law Society. During her 1L summer, she interned for the Honorable Paul Gurney in the 10th Judicial District of Kansas. She spent her 2L summer working in-house at Netsmart Technologies and will pursue a career in patent prosecution upon graduation. In her free time, Frances enjoys golfing, international travel, and game nights with friends.

Shannon Moore

Shannon is originally from Mansfield, Massachusetts. She attended Providence College and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in History and Spanish and a minor in Latin American Studies. Shannon currently serves as a brief writer for the Moot Court Board’s Intellectual Property team. During her 1L summer, she interned for the Honorable Trevor N. McFadden in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. She returned home to Boston for her 2L summer at Sullivan & Worcester and will be joining the firm after graduation. In her free time, Shannon enjoys wine tasting and spending time with animals.

Nicholas Mohr

Nick is a third-year law student from Fort Thomas, Kentucky. He received his Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish from Miami University (Ohio). Nick currently serves as the Vice President of the International Human Rights Society, and as Alumni Chair of the LGBT Law forum. During his 1L summer, he interned under the Honorable Michael R. Barrett on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and during his 2L summer he was a law clerk for the National Immigrant Justice Center in Goshen, Indiana. In his free time, he enjoys running, reading poetry, and watching horror movies.

Samantha Mariani

Samantha is originally from Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 2020 with a double major in Accountancy and French. Currently, Samantha is a dual degree student and working towards both her JD and her MBA. During her 2L summer, Samantha was a Summer Associate at Kirkland & Ellis in New York City. She will return to the firm after graduation as a member of their Corporate practice group. In her free time, Samantha enjoys traveling, watching movies, and cheering for the New York Yankees.
