Maria is from The Woodlands, Texas. She attended Texas A&M University and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Philosophy and two minors in Italian and Sociology. Maria was an Assistant Rector her 2L year. She will be studying abroad Spring 2023. During her 1L summer she interned with the National Immigrant Justice Center’s policy team located in D.C. Maria also took the EU Policy-Making Course offered by the VUB Brussels School of Governance (Institute of European Studies) and the Diplomatische Akademie Wien — Vienna School of International Studies, made available through Notre Dame’s Nanovic Institute for European Studies. For her 2L summer, Maria worked at a big law firm in Chicago where she will return after graduation. In her free time, Maria enjoys exercising and spending time with family and friends.

Laura is from Glenview, Illinois. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received her Bachelor of Science in Art and an additional major in English. Laura serves as an Executive Productions Editor for the journal. She spent her 1L summer as a judicial extern for the Honorable John R. Blakey in the Northern District of Illinois. She spent her 2L summer working for a law firm in Chicago and will be returning after graduation. Laura enjoys painting, playing squash, and cooking for her friends in her free time.

Emma is from The Woodlands, Texas.  She graduated from the University of Alabama in 2020 with a degree in International Studies and Spanish.  During her 1L summer she interned for Judge Beau Miller at the Harris County 190^th Civil Court in Houston, Texas.  In her free time, Emma enjoys cooking and traveling.

Daniel attended Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. He graduated magna cum laude with Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Politics. At Notre Dame, Daniel works as a research assistant to Professor Barry Cushman and as a Teaching Assistant to Professor Marah Stith McLeod. He worked for The Hon. Jonathan Tukel his 1L summer and for Calfee Halter & Griswold his 2L summer. He will clerk for The Hon. Stephen J. Murphy III, who sits on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, after graduation. Daniel reads science fiction and watches Football (Denver Broncos) or Baseball (any team) in his free time.

Originally from Cedar Falls, IA,  Lauren attended Iowa State University and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Economics and minors in Business and Political Science.  Lauren is spending her 2021-2022 academic year in London, participating in Notre Dame’s London Law Program.  During her 1L summer, she interned for the Honorable Judge Eleni Roumel in the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, DC, and served as Research Assistant for Professor Alford.  In her free time, Lauren enjoys skiing and traveling.

Amanda is originally from Chicago, Illinois. She attended Northwestern University and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Communication Studies. Prior to law school, Amanda earned her Master’s in Education from the University of Notre Dame and taught elementary school for four years in New Orleans, Louisiana and Austin, Texas. During her 1L summer, Amanda served as an in-house legal fellow and LCLD Scholar at PepsiCo. She spent her 2L summer at Jenner & Block in Chicago and is thrilled to be returning as a litigation associate upon graduation. In her free time, Amanda enjoys true crime documentaries, arguing about college football, and archery.
